Mike, Head Chef
Our head chef, Mike, was born and raised in Sudbury, Ontario. After a career shift following downsizing in the tech sector in 2000, he pursued his passion for food by returning to school to study culinary arts. He earned his Red Seal certification in 2003, following graduation and several years of hands-on experience.
From Ontario to Prince Edward Island, Mike has worked in a wide range of kitchens, continually building his culinary expertise. His philosophy is rooted in doing as much as possible from scratch, using fresh, local ingredients to create dishes that are both authentic and flavorful.
When Mike took the helm at the Lobster Barn, his goal was simple: to highlight the incredible local suppliers of PEI and offer guests a true taste of the Maritimes through fresh, honest food and a welcoming, down-to-earth experience.
